Behavioral Science Division, Boston, MA:

Position: VA Postdoctoral fellowship

Areas: PTSD, Substance Use Disorders and Health Informatics

Job Description: The fellowship is designed to train psychologists to conduct research in overlapping fields of PTSD, Substance Use Disorders, and Healthcare Informatics. The fellow will work on both existing and independent projects and learn to prepare grant applications. There is also an opportunity to provide direct clinical services to patients with PTSD and substance use disorders for up to 10 hours per week. The fellow will work with staff through the National Center for PTSD (Terence Keane, Ph.D.), Substance Abuse Treatment Program (Deborah Brief, Ph.D.), and Medical Service (Stephan Gaehde, M.D.) in VA Boston Healthcare System and in the Medical Information System Unit at Boston U. School of Medicine.

Requirements: Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology and strong interest in research. Some experience in designing and conducting clinical research would be helpful.

Time Commitment: Minimum of one year, but can be renewed for up to two years.

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible, but no later than September, 2006.
